Nope - either the North Pole, or anywhere on a circle 1.318 1.159 miles north of the South Pole.

If you walked South you would then be at the South Pole.
Turning right would take you North, not West.
There is no East or West at the South Pole, only North.

You mis-read. Walking 1 mile south from a starting point 1.318 1.159 miles north of the South Pole leaves you 0.318 0.159 miles north of the SP. Walk east or west, you make a complete circle around the SP, and then by walking north again you wind up where you started.

I think you end up on the opposite longitude if you do that? Maybe start 0.159 miles further south.

The mind boggles at that one...
Walk West to end up East of the place you started from !

The cat gap is a period in the fossil record of approximately 25 to 18.5 million years ago in which there are few fossils of cats or cat-like species found in North America.

So that must be when they developed the whole 9 lives mythos. More like 900,000 lives perhaps, but who would have been counting back then?

Speaking of cat gap…

Studies show that if a cat falls off the seventh floor of a building it has about thirty percent less chance of surviving than a cat that falls off the twentieth floor.

Chickens lower on the pecking order that sleep at the ends of the roost keep one eye open for predators while closing the other eye and half their brain to sleep. They will turn and use the other eye in order to let the other half of their brain sleep.

The chickens in the middle can sleep with both eyes closed. High pecking order has its advantages.

Hmm. Now I've got to check out who's in the middle when I check on them tonight...pretty easy, they're 4 breeds in a flock of 5....
