Well, guess I should add some commentary to this thread. It is without a doubt one of the most fun and exciting things I have ever done and I have done a few things in my life. What a great experience. We road on highways, we road through deep sand, we road gravel roads, we road down goat tracks, we crossed rivers in canoes with the scooters, we had great meals and we met great people along the way. It was hard to tell who was having the most fun. The leaders and owners of Scoot West Africa, Matt and Phil, or the rest of us. They really enjoy leading scooter trips and we are working on more in different areas.
Having 10 riders that all known each other was a bonus. We knew our strengths and weakness's and made it all work.
I really urge anyone who wants an adventure to try this one. You do not have to be a expert rider. Just be able ride and have determination to do it. Be able to handle change as things change as you go along. Be able to go a few days with out hot water in shower and don't expect the Holiday Inn Express.
There is NO danger. The people are wonderful and you will feel like a rock star when they all come out to see you. It is not every day they get to see 12 foreigners riding scooters in their area.
Give it a try.
PM my if you want individual discussions on this adventure.
