Will be fine O tuned iron but I feel that alloy cylinder with some "clean up" will give a better result. If it's done many miles it could also need a new crank. And a 60mm would really help in the iron cylinder.

Really needed in the iron cylinder. As well as a thin ring piston to keep it reliable. The clean up and inlet are going to make a difference regardless of anything else.
