I have search the forum for this information and can't find any. Appologies if it has already been answered.
I am rebuilding a 1963 Allstate, today I managed to work out how to get the headset off the bike without cutting any cables or wires and no damage.....Now I need help.
How do I get be throttle and gear shift tubes out? This bike has sat for for a long time, I have got them to move slightly so they are not seized solid. I just know there is a trick or sequence I can't see yet.
Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks

You will need a 10mm socket. Remove the bolts from inside the headset. Your cable brackets and a series of washers will come off. Then the tubes slide out of the headset.

Use a lot of heat on the tubes; they will free up I assure you.
