Hi,
I've just put together a new clutch for my malossi 210 with some lovely parts from sip.
It's a 7 spring CNC basket with a reinforced circlip, honda plates and grooved centre bush. I've used sip 'sport' springs which are marked 'L' in the description.
I do find them a bit excessive in lever pull terms. A bit stiff.
I dread to think what XL and XXL are like!

There's nothing wrong, everything works well ( I'm frigging proper chuffed with it if I'm honest) and their fancy premium clutch cable is lovely too, BUT I definitely think I could get away with less spring tension.

I would like to know what other people are using

The springs in my last clutch were great but they're past their best now- they were white. Anyone know who might have sold them?

The scoot has approx 20bh p

Thanks in advance
Tony

Still looking for advice on this if there's anyone out there with an answer, really just looking for an older style spring with a weight between standard and the SIP "SPORT L"
Thanks again
Tony

You could replace some of the springs with softer ones if you're looking to loosen it up. They don't all have to be the same stiffness.

Now I can see that being fine on a 6 spring or a cosa where the springs are in even numbers, alternating springs, but do you think this might be a problem on a 7 spring clutch? It strikes me that the basket might not compress squarely with 2 of the same strength springs together while the rest alternate.
Maybe it's the OCD kicking in and in reality it's not a problem.
Have you mixed springs in a 7 spring?
