After determining that the GTV I bought in April isn't affected by the recall, I got my first piece of mail from Piaggio the other day (this after owning two of their scoots). I opened it tentatively, expecting the worst...
"Welcome to the world of Vespa!
You have purchased the finest motorscooter in the world. Our one year unlimited-mile warranty..."
And included was my little warranty registration sticker.
Wow. Only took five, very close to six, months for them to recognize the fact that I bought a new scooter. I have a hard time believing that Vespa sells enough scooters in the U.S. to get this far behind on mailing out warranty cards. (Though I guess I should count myself lucky...I seem to remember some folks on here saying it took nearly a year to get theirs). The month before, my wife and I bought a new Toyota and within the first week or so we were already receiving mail regarding our car, customer support, roadside assistance, etc.
I know, I know...comparing a Goliath like Toyota to the David that is Vespa USA is like apples and oranges...but still, if I have any complaints about the brand, it's right there.
