If there was a scooter shop near, I would support them and buy from them.
But for me, my closest shop is 2-2.5 hrs away so I tend to purchase on line. I have used Scooterwest, Scooterpartsco and AF1. Have been satisfied with all those. |

Scooter Mercato. WAY cheaper than Scooterwest. If there's something he doesn't have on the website, call and ask because he probably does have it somewhere.

I just buy Vespa stuff through my Piaggio dealer. The shipping from Scooterwest to Canada is brutal. For other bike stuff I use https://fortnine.ca/en/

Scooter Mercato is the best for vintage. Modern parts are all based on how much you are ordering. For one off parts, Scooterwest is good but pricey. For big orders, SIP is the better route because they have better prices and the shipping from Germany becomes reasonable. I have not used scooterpartsco but they do get good reviews.

Curious, anyone in NA use Scooter Center? Even with shipping, looks like prices are considerably lower on some of the more "pricey" items. I prefer to keep it local, but if the savings is 30% or more...

Doesn't hurt to try...
(Stands on Soap box)
I'd like to ask everyone to give their nearest Piaggio/Vespa dealer the first crack at any parts and/or accessory purchases. Without them our resources are dwindled and everyone loses. Find your best price then visit or call your nearest dealer and give them the info and the best price you found. Give them a chance to meet, beat or get close enough to that best price. If they can't make you happy, you can always buy online. It only costs maybe 5 minutes of your time and it gives the brick and mortar folks a chance to compete and maybe even help keep them in business. Thank you, Proud Supporter of Local Small Businesses (Climbs down from Soap box)

I try to be fairly democratic: for mail order, depending on what I needed, I've bought from all the usual suspects (SIP, Scooterpartsco & Scooterwest), and now that I have a new dealer that's much closer (a little under 1.5mi) and far nicer and supportive than the one I bought Melody from (which gave up Vespa/Piaggio to the new shop), I throw a bit more money their way now, both for stuff and the occasional wrenching I can't/won't handle. As far as who's "best" on the online front, I really think it's a draw: each has its strengths, and sometimes it's less about price than sheer availability - I have no issue spending a few bucks more (so long as it's just "a few") if it means getting the thing I want or need relatively quickly.
Thankfully, Melody's been a pretty cheap date since rolling her off the lot...no issues besides the usual intervals, and I have pretty much all the extras I want, save for adjustable brake levers, which I was planning to do last month before hitting some monthly-budget turbulence; hoping to get to those by March. |

Scooters West will probably have what you want in stock and send it out the same day you order it. And they always have excellent customer service. But, they tend to be a little more expensive than some of the other online venders. They are about what you would have to pay at your local dealer plus shipping. They have discounts on shipping if you place a large order which could make your shipping free or discounted by the first $20 or so.
I have used AF1 and they were pretty good. They have the parts catalogs online which makes it easy to look up what part number you need. My local dealer is relatively small and is about 95% dirt bikes and ATV's, so almost anything I would want he would have to order it from a Piaggio warehouse and have it shipped. He would try to do this on his next order. But there is no shipping cost to me if I buy at the dealer. My dealer is just down the street from where I work. Since Vespas and Piaggios are such a small part of his business, I am have doubts that he will be around for the long term and haven't tried to establish a long term business relationship with him. When you order from EU to the states, the higher shipping may be over come by the lack of a state sales tax added to your order. It pays to compare. For fluids I just go to my local auto parts store, Berta's Mega Mall, or another large multi-brand motorcycle store. For spark plugs, I go to a regional NAPA store and buy several at the same time because I want to buy the NKG ones. For tires, I buy at Cycle Gear and take my wheels there and have them mount them for me since its only $25 for mounting when I buy from them. I used another European online store based in the Netherlands (not SIP) and had bad / no customer service. It's a red flag if there is no customer service phone number to call and get help. Their only customer service was via email in broken English. Avoid any EU seller with no customer service phone number. It's not worth it. Scooterpartsco is another online US seller that comes recommended by some MV members which is worth checking out. |

Looking into finding someone near me that has worked on a vespa. older Guy Google search and social media search for preferably a scooter club or scooter meet-up group. Join up and get to know the members. A few at least will do their own services and will probably talk you through or even do the work with you/for you on a weekend. No scooter group? Try a motorcycle club or group. |

My local Vespa dealer is mainly a Honda dealer that barely stocks oil filters, much less other parts. 150 Hondas and 2 Vespas on the floor. So you gotta wait on them to order parts and receive them. And you'll pay full retail. Want labor done? Twice what independent shops charge. Supporting the local dealer here is not practical.

Happy with these three that I purchased from.
Scooterwest , Scooterpartsco and AF1 Racing.
I've owned the 2019 Primavera Touring for a month now and made purchases with these 3 suppliers. Very happy with all three. Good prices and free shipping. Scooterwest just sent me some tune up stuff, belt spark, plugs, rollers, foot rests and a side stand and most big items were discounted, they also gave me $20 off on shipping, which by the way came across the country in less than 3 days CA to CT all for 3 bucks. All the suppliers were quick to ship with free shipping also. You can't complain, before buying the Vespa I was concerned about getting parts and supply for the Vespa but I can see nothing to worry about. Thanks you all. |

Ed, at AF1-Racing helped me score a nice custom painted top case for my red Liberty S from ScooterWest!
Nice when retailers work together to help a scooter owner! O.S. |
