Okay, I've never even ridden the MP3 but I have a question. I was in the grocery store and happened to hear one of our local scooter dealers chatting it up with a lady giving out free samples of salsa. He sells TNG and Kymco. I know who he is but he doesn't know me.

Anyway, I heard him say, "That Vespa three-wheeler is mostly hype, and harder to handle than a scooter." No bullshit, my wife and I both heard him say it.

So, is it hard to handle? My guess is that this particular dealer has "Vespa Envy." I may want to put an MP3 in my garage some day.

Yes he was slopping BS on some unsuspecting citizen. The MP3 handles better than any other scooter in the same weight category.

Start reading the topics regarding the MP3 from all kinds of people of both sexes in the USA, Europe, the Far East, etc. EVERYONE praises the handling of the MP3, except the Kymco salesman. You do the math!

Thanks, I considered reading all the MP3 posts but then, I'm almost 50 years old, not sure I have that much time left.

Besides, I figured this thread would give people an opportunity to admit that the emperor wasn't wearing clothes, if that were the case.

Good to know it's fine machine.

It not only handles fine, it handles better than any bike I have ridden before. It's almost as if it had 4 wheels, yet when you lean that baby over it track like it's on a rail around corners.

Don't take my word for it - go test ride one!

I think I can see where this salsa monger is coming from. The mp3 is probably 100-200 pounds heavier than a 50cc-125cc scooter and until you get use to it, it is sort of hard to maneuver at low speed. It takes some time to learn when its a good time to lock and unlock the suspension when moving the bike around.
Low speed is much more tircky on a heavier bike.
At driving speed you will surely find the mp3 to be a superior machine
Forgive my spelling MS word just froze on me WTH!!

That is the key point, it handles better than any other "Maxy" scooter. In slow (parking lot) speeds I could handle our Vino 125 much better than the MP3. It is all dependant on what he is comparing it to.

That's all true -- a 50cc moped will be much more maneuverable at walking speeds. But this dealer was saying "it's all hype", so clearly he was spouting nonsense and intending to misinform. In essence, he's only telling the truth if you compare within a speed range of 0-5 mph! It's hard to call that an honest mistake, and it all depends on where you're coming from.

Hey, he's a saleman, and deception is just one of his tools of the trade. All I can say is that if I were in the market for a Kymco, he'd be the last person I'd do business with. A lier is a lier, and I wouldn't trust one thing that he would say. I'm sure that he'd tell potential buyers that his Xcitiing 500 was fuel injected and that it had a 4 year warranty, and when someone called him on it, he'd say you misunderstood what I said OR I never said that!

Over my 61 years, I've dealt with many salesmen and women that were just like that individual; however I'm older and wiser, now. Though I make other mistakes, I don't make the same ones over and over again. I don't do business with his type period!

It is still heavy and wide compared to an FLT Razz emoticon I'm surprised you sold yours. I would rather be lied to by an unscrupulous sales person than a know-nothing salesman who lies to cover his ignorance. I expect it from a crook.
