I've had my LX for about a month--driving it maybe three times a week. Just this past week it began to cut off while I was driving it--electrical and everything. When I came to a stop, I would turn the key and get it going again. This was fine for a couple of days. Then, I would turn the key, the display would light up and then go out--this happened repeatedly, until the key didn't do anything; no display, nothing. I checked the battery and charged it and still the same result. I don't know if it's an ignition problem or what, but was hoping somebody else had this happen to them, too. To describe it as dumbly as I can: it's almost as if the contact that is supposed to be made by the key isn't happening.

Double check your battery connections.. mine did that, and they were a little loose, my bike would sputter and the headlight would go out on stops or when hitting bumps..

you may have already done this, I know you said you checked the charge, but give the screws a little crank

Scott,
Yeah, the connections are sound--the weird thing is that for a while if I wiggled the key, the display would go in and out.

Hmm... that does sound ignition related... I wonder if you got in and made sure the ignition was tight and no wires are messed up... That could be a major project...

hopefully some of our genius crew will chime in... I think it was Greasy who helped me with my issue.

I fixed it. Just a simple thing: loose connection out of the ignition (that seems to be what I was writing here--I just should have checked sooner). I got it cinched on a bit tighter and it seems sound.
Thanks for the help, Scott.

Looks like another thing to add to my checklist for when a bike doesn't start.
