First off Hi all!

I'm 21 and am at University, I have a Triumph Spitfire and have never owned a motorbike or scooter before.

My housemate is a mature student and has the most GORGEOUS Vespa-Piaggio Granturismo 200 with a £200 custom exhaust, chrome railings and bits all over it, with a custom fabricated seat cover.

4 months back he was riding it and was knocked off his bike, he wanted to salvage it but was told after inspection that the Vespas frame was ever so slightly bent in one place, he was told that it's not a hard job to replace or fix just very time consuming and was quoted £850 to repair. (purely labour). (all the scratches i've buffered out with scratch remover).

Now i've refurbished my Triumph fully myself, new panels, chassis, the lot..

I know NOTHING of bikes at all.. my questions are:

Is it worth trying to sort myself (the bike has 13K with two owners (including myself))?? if so what is involved..

Is it worth just selling? If so what sort of money should I be looking at getting..

Can't say for sure. Someone knowledgeable would likely have to look at it. The Vespa doesn't really have a "frame" that can be replaced. The metal body IS the frame. Maybe it can be fixed - depends on the location and extent of the damage.

Sorry for the long delay, been on holiday!

Here are some photos of her: (a few tiny scratches to the paint on the right hand side below seat, seat is torn slightly). She has 18,000 miles on her and has only 1 owner. Although i've got to reapply for the V5 as my mate can't find it. (still starts and runs first time every time - drives fine).

Do you reckon it's fixable within a cheap budget? - If not how much could i expect to get for her as a whole, should I break her or sell her as a whole if it's not economical to fix her?

Spend the 850 to get the frame fixed right. If the frame is bent, it'll screw up the ride.
