It is now an official Oyster Tour, even though we haven't made it to Lynn's yet.

One dozen is never enough.

We really wanted oysters and beer and rode through this to get them.

Florida oysters are often called Apalachicola oysters even thought they come from the surrounding area, such as Cedar Key.
You can (or used to) buy them right from the boat. I took a 48 qt. cooler, they shoveled it full plus some room for ice and charged me $8!
It's roughly 20 dozen.
They're muddy, and you have to shuck them, but I was in heaven!

I will be down in Jacksonville for this week on business (sans scooter ) but looking to indulge in the seafood and local oysters hopefully! I will be on the lookout for the oysters that you mention!

You guys coming all the way to Floribama? Drinks on me!

Depending on the weather, we are going as far as Mexico Beach, and that far only to see the progress in the reconstruction of that devastated town.

It rained so much Jim's shoes turned to fish.

There was some sunshine the first day.

Oysters at Lynns who whole back deck was taken by the hurricane. The bay is
closed to oystering so she is selling locally farmed oysters.

Apalachicola was bustling but a lot still closed. The River Front hotel,
Boss Oysters and most of the retail on the river are still closed.

A few more shots of our little adventure.
Newberry, High Springs, Wakulla Springs, Carrabelle and Apalachicola were all places of interest this time.
Oysters were devoured at the Ed Ball Lodge in Wakulla and, of course, at Lynn's.

Did you by chance get on over to Indian Pass, Port St.Joe, or Mexico Beach? I'm wondering how the recovery is going.
Never eaten at Lynn's- but it's on the list now! Spent lots of enjoyable evenings at Indian Pass Raw Bar.

We thought about it but didn't go further west than Apalachicola.

I have been to the Indian Pass Raw Bar, actually two of them.

The one you show at Indian Pass and one downtown St. Joe.
