I'll admit it. I've worn them on the scooter. I've also had them for... more than ten years so I'm used to wearing them on road trips. Leather pants/chaps are pretty nice actually, especially when you have rock chips flying into your legs on a non scooterish type machine. Bugs, all that kind of thing is very easy to clean off chaps as opposed to any type of fabric.
The last thing I think I'd want is one pair of leather pants for scooter riding. One good sweat in those things and it would suck ever after lol.
You folks might think they're some sort of fashion accessory but the first guy who used em on a bike probably took some grief too. Until other riders realized chaps make a lot of sense.
Its kind of funny that some folks here are judging "chaps" as a riding accessory. Like matching helmet colors to the bike colors.
Look, if you (you in general, as in whoever happens to be reading this) want to wear chaps for protection and you prefer them over leather pants for your own reasons, stop worrying about the fashion police.
I would tell you what I think wearing chaps while riding a scooter means to me, but then I also bet some people would buy em just for that reason.
