Wondering which seat y'all find most comfortable on newer GTSs. I am 5'10 with a very very bad back. I find that on the stock seat I push myself way back beyond where my butt should go to get comfortable and it really takes it's toll on my back. Hoping to do a multiday ride in a couple of months. I ride mostly 1 up lately and can flip back to my stock seat if I have a passenger, so that isn't an issue. How is the Sport Seat? Any other suggestions?

The GTV seat? I know my riding partner was thinking of getting one for his Sei Giorno. I know I like the look of them and as my wife doesn't really like riding with me, I'm thinking about it as well.

The softest seat is not the most comfortable.
The biggest problem is your feet are in front of your body, putting all your weight on your "sit bones" and curving your spine unnaturally.

Before you jump in this direction, find a way to try one out. A number of riders do not like this 2-part seat because of the limited seating position and the tendency to slide toward the front of the seat. If you are going to ride solo anyway, you might consider the solo gel seat. I find that one quite comfortable.

A GT200 seat might be the answer. I too suffer sometimes from severe lower back pain, and the GT200 is by far the comfiest to ride, as it's basically flat all the way back. It can also help to tuck your feet back as far as possible, and to sit very upright rather than slouching in any way.

I've used the Gel Solo Seat for years, and it is excellent for long trips.
Here is the Piaggio seat for a GTS with ABS. It's still a little pricey, compared to other seats out there, but you know it's going to fit.

I use an aqua aire cushion too, and that works very well for keeping the monkey butt away.

I'm not a fan of the GT200 seat, but I know a lot of people who swear by them. I've got a GTS touring seat that is very comfortable, but I haven't been able to get them for the ABS bike yet.
As far as the GTV seat, I can tell you that we sell a lot more GTS seats to people who aren't happy with the seat on the GTV than vice versa.

It's on my radar as I have a 29 inch inseam.

Great suggestion on testing one out before buying!

This has been discussed here previously, but I put a Corbin seat on my GTS250 and have very pleased with the comfort, especially compared to the stock seat. Someone will likely jump in here and say how firm the Corbin seat is... indeed; it takes some miles to "break it in," and then it moulds itself to your physique. It is that firmness that adds to the comfort, giving you support on the back of your thighs as well as your hind end.

I have lower back and hip issues and find I can ride longer and more comfortably on this Corbin seat.

It allows me more forward/rearward movement on the seat and is (from the Corbin info) about an inch lower than the stock seat.[/img]

I had a corbin seat on my TDM 850, and wasn't a fan, but there are people who swear by them. That one looks like it does a good job of increasing the surface area, which is what really makes the difference in terms of long range comfort.
