Hi,

I just bought an abandoned vespa 50 lx and would like to install a cylinder kit.

This is my first experience with vespas, tuning and engines what so ever, so I could need some support before I start

I have installed a performance exhaust, changed some blinkers and lock barrels, but this my first major mod.

My first question is if i need to remove the engine from the frame before i install the cylinderkit? Or is it possible to install the cylinder while the engine is in the frame?

Most guides i've seen remove the engine before they start with the cylinderkit, but its kind of intimidating to remove the engine from the frame for a newbie

Grateful for any insights / tips. \o/

Totally possible with the engine in.

Took an hour.

Assume your going 80cc too??

If so up jet by about 4

Thanks

I'll give it a go and take some pictures on the way.

I'm a modest man and got the polini sport 70cc. The guys at the shop advised me to put in a 85 jet. (combo with unresticted carb and unrestriced sito vespa originale)

My plan is to experiment with porting if i'm not happy the performance. I got tools and a garage, but no skills The plan is to learn and then get a 125 and go for a malossi 187.

I was the same to be honest. It really isn't difficult.

Hardest but is getting the jetting right.

Consider some stiffer clutch springs too so you can launch quicker.
