Just placed an order for a 300 GTS HPE in red with matching top-box. It is a straight swop for my Kawasaki Z1000SX (140BHP). At least I'll get my good lady onto the back as she was petrified of the bike, however, is this the right decision? What'dya think

Tough one.
What kind of rider are you? If you like a monster between your legs you will miss the rush of the bigger bike. BUT if that isn't too important you did right and bought a great scoot. I have a 650 and Vespa 300. Funny thing is my wife is much happier riding pillion on the 650 and enjoys the occasional opening up of the throttle and the speed. It's a C650GT though and the pillion is pretty spoiled on one right down to controlling of their heated seat. |

It depends. There was a time in my life when no scooter would have been the right decision. Moving from 140hp to 22? Odds are pretty good you'll notice a difference.
What I want from riding changed over the years; these days, I prefer comfort and ease over speed and power. Lightweight and flickability over bulk and straightline touring. The Vespa suits me. Day tripping and finding some twisties is my pleasure. You have to know what you want. My wife prefers to ride her own scoot; that works for me, as well - she is my favorite riding partner.

Here she is!
Thanks, Guys. I will try to manipulate, coerce and bully my other half to get a white one, if only to complement mine - see my updated profile pic to see my new love. Imaginatively called 'Red' I've had some funny looks/laughs when overtaking people doing 80mph! Beautiful scooter; i'm glad to back in the (stylish) fold.
