I have no idea but check with Scooter West, they have the $$ kit I want to convert my '09 GTS to LED, a piece at a time. But I would have thought that LED bulb should have lasted far longer than 1 year.

I also installed the Scooterwest LED on my GTV (slightly different product than the GTS LED). Has worked great for the last 2K miles or so. It quite bright and very white.
I replaced all the bulbs on my bike with LED except the instrument cluster bulbs. Best Miguel |

I installed this and am very pleased with it...
... but since am Lux/Lumen freak, will potentially add additional external LED
nevertheless, this gives OEM optics and improves the OEM lights by far! WSM 020-362-00 Dellux LED headlight announced for GTS |

Get the bulb with the spreadable heatsink. The other one has a bulb fan that sometimes cause problems.

Allens wrote: How about the projector beam replacement assembly for the GTS? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_sED0nOM-0 Install is really simple, truly plug & play. If you can open the headset, you can do this upgrade. It comes with 4 new screws, but uses the stock mounting points. The low beam has a very nice cutoff and the high beam is well focused to avoid light scatter blinding oncoming traffic. It is pricey, but it's well engineered and well made. It's a great upgrade and easy to DIY.

Piaggio is sticking a LED headlight assembly in the HPE GTS. We have a couple on order to see if they work with the earlier bikes. The Piaggio part number is 1D002559, and they will cost about the same as the Chinese LED assemblies everyone's hawking now.
They also have LED assemblies in the Sprint and Primavera. |

HPE Led Headlight
My question is this: Does the new gts hpe original led headlight, fit in the previous gts versions? So it would be an upgrade, to buy it t as a part and fit it. Also for the rear, although I think it is not necessary.

Wait! ... Let me put my sunglasses on. I've always been envious of scooters with LED lights but never really mess with them. I am afraid of even looking at wires.

Fitting the hpe headlight
As looking the back side of the new part I imagine that it will not be a problem to to fit it on the mounting seat. Even the chrome rim part can be fitted somehow. The problem will be the electrical connection as the H4 plug must be adapted to the new connector. (Seen on the left) An adaptor will be necessary.
It's time for the technicians to talk. https://www.scooter-center.com/en/detail/index/sArticle/51075 |

Quick update on my LED upgrade.
I installed the dedicated projector beam unit about 3k miles ago, and it has worked perfectly. The unit at Scooterwest is now cheaper ($195) than Amazon (or SIP) ($220). On a very dark night on some back roads in Wisconsin while at Amerivespa, it lit up the road shockingly well. It was a good test as there was no ambient city/street lighting. I was pleased to discover the high beam projector had enough height to clear the luggage on the front rack. As a side note, I placed an OPT7 LED bulb in the stock reflector bucket and had good results with no issues for 2 years. It was a nice upgrade over the Phillips Motovision halogen I was running prior to that. I just felt I was dazzling oncoming traffic a bit and decided to try the projector beam unit. The new unit produces even more light and better concentrated with very well defined cutoff on low and hi beam. A big step up, but pricey. |

Hi Crazy Carl. I too installed the OPT7 LED and am happy but want the beam to extend further in the hi-beam mode. Have you noticed if it lights further forward. ROBOT shows the beam on a garage door but that demo doesn't show me the distance. ALSO- the ScooterWest site says it's for Off Road use only. Is that an issue? Regards, Ralph |

They typically will state off-road use for lights that lack Guvment approvals on any road vehicle to CYA themselves.
How does a deer or an elk look with those bright lights? That's why i don't lay out much money for a HL change as I tend to not ride at night. I also like the fact that staying with the OE bulb base and using an improved incandescent bulb means I can replace it easily on a tour. Having been in a repair pinch in Mexico once and forced to ride a few night miles I had such an event where the bulb went and rode reaaaaal slow on my parking light to lodging a a new bulb next day. I get the bling LED lights as a project though and logical if one rides around in the dark. I'm seeing lots of green and blue bling HL's that I fail to see how they get away with them? I met a PU truck the other night locally that was really a blinder. I suggest wearing clean cloth gloves when touching bulbs. |

I'll see if I can get out this weekend and do a test in a dark area away from city lights. |

It's here.
I actually got one of the new GTS LED headlights from Piaggio. And I was all set to figure out how to wire it up, when I said to myself, I'll bet someone has figured this out already. Sure enough, SIP has a cable that plugs into the H7 socket in the harness and into the socket on the light fixture. So I'm going to order one, because whenever I try to do electrical stuff, it looks like it was done by a not very clever middle schooler, and I don't want to ruin this thing figuring out how it works. It looks like it bolts into the headset like the old one, but there is a gap that will have to be covered with something like one of the stick on headlight rings SIP also sells. So that's another thing I will order. As soon as I have it up and working or good and broken, and get another camera that doesn't take sepia toned photos of everything, I'll post some photos of it in the GT200. The Piaggio LED light fixture itself should be about $180-190 or so, once I can figure out if it works. I am hoping they will come down in price, but right now Piaggio's getting whatever they want to charge for them. |

Based on the pics the connector looks like a fairly common AMP superseal 1.5 3 pin female. There are h4 (male) to xxx connectors available here, and if not, the bare connectors are easy to get. Could you take some close up pics of the connector and gap.
Amazon caries the superseals with a pigtail, and the male H4 connectors |

but only adjust out from stock. Most people who get adjustable levers want ones that go in closer.
Thanks for the lever comment that they don't adjust closer for my short fingers. I replaced the stock halogen headlight with Scooterwests SKU# LEDH4. It's bright but doesn't seem to project far on high beam. Of course the following month Robot demoed a projector beam headlight. But he aimed it at the garage door and doesn't show how far it projects light ahead on high beam. Waiting for Motovista's report. Since I didn't win a projector headlight at Amerivespa Geneva raffle, I want to hear what others say first. |

I have short fingers and honestly my OEM levers are an easy lever which I often use less than four fingers on. Mine stay as they came.

I put in an LED headlight bulb about a year and a half ago. The low beam circuit went out, so I have the high beam only. That's a little less than I get out of a conventional bulb, and only four times the price...
I remember trying to get a tail light for a Buddy once when we had a shop. They were on backorder for months, so we ended up converting the existing tail light section to a Bay15D bulb setup. I'm a little tentative about switching over to $200 bulb changes and then finding out it's $200 and a few months. |

A brief update-
I installed the new LED headlight in my GT 200. It does fit and works fine with the cable SIP sells for the Primavera. But it is a lot heavier than the fixture it replaces. I'm not sure if that will be an issue in terms of plastics breaking or not over time. Also, the glue on chrome rims that fit the original headlight don't work with this, so I am going to have to order the rim for the HPE GTS and see if it fits. Meanwhile, I'll have duct cooling for my speedometer from the top of the light fixture. I might order a new front plastic as well, and see if that can be adapted to the older models and to see if it 's been reinforced to better hold up to the weight of the new fixture. When and if I have this available, it will consist of at least three pieces, the light, the cable and the rim, and maybe more. |

Probably about an inch and a half. They end about where the breakaway mark usually is on sport style levers.
