Good morning from sunny Guatemala. Has anyone installed this LX indicator kit? I would like to see how they look and work before buying. I have a LXV 2V ie 2014 Euro Version (no turning pods) but the front and rear lateral lights do not work as running lights, only as turning indicatorsand the other day while driving at night I encounter a friend. She made me realized that I am not very visible at night, specially from the rear. I will start using reflective vest but I thought maybe converting my rear turn light into constant on lights would help, plus maybe adding a Led license plate light synchronized with the breaks like the one Judy had.
If anyone has installed this let me know, I am not so sure that the "blue front lights" would look good. Any other suggestions? I dont want to blin upcoming traffic, but want to make sure that they see me. On the back I have a leather case, and would not like to add lights there.

Thank you In advance!

This would be another solution, but for the price depending on how the sip front light look, I migth as well change also the front lateral ones.

Hi,

Yeh I fitted those exact ones to my LX50.

You'll need some resistors too for the indicator part. You'll also need some wire and either the clamp style terminations or your choice.

I ran the DRL part directly off the little parking lamp.

They work really well, very bright and gives it a good look.

I did put photos on here but can't find them.

To do a proper neat job you'll need to remove the horn cover and glovebox.

They do not look blue, I love how they look! How many resistors did you buy? 4, one for each? Will buy now.

Thank you!

Here they are on my S 150
I got mine from Vespa Motorsport (Scooterwest.com) in San Diego, CA. They used to sell them as a kit complete with resistor packs, shrink tubing and all the necessary connectors and other bits but no longer do, for some reason. (To be fair, though, I remember them being pretty expensive, but the stock signals had to go and these were easy to install after watching their YouTube video.)

The BMW-style rear taillight they still sell has also been added, along with their HID headlight kit. I've removed the hideous US-required front mudguard reflectors and plugged the holes since these photos were taken.

Rear angled, LED running light and LED brake light:

From the front (sort of) in the shade, running light and HID headlight. This was before the two-up Sport seat and Asian-market grab rail were added:

In the shade, signal flashing:

Rear running lights in my closed garage; brake light on with brake lever squeezed:

From the rear, signal flashing with no pressure on the brake lever:

I hope this helps give you an idea what they'll look like under different riding conditions. The stock running lights were pretty terrible, visibility-wise.

I wish they'd had the LED bulb when I got the HID kit! Crying or Very sad emoticon With the HID kit you lose having a high beam and low beam-the headlight is either on and very bright, or off. I'd rather have the LED bulb, to be honest.

I think you'll like the LED taillight, too. It's a LOT brighter than the stock one.

Edit: here's Scooterwest's short installation video. This shows the brightness a bit better than still photos do.
