Well my garage has finally thawed out enough to start replacing my speedometer cable that broke at the end of last season.

I've got the bike apart and removed the old cable. As far as I can tell, the correct routing is to follow the front brake line up into the headset.

I see there is a metal bracket holding the brake line just as it exits the mudguard. My previous speedo cable was not held by this bracket.

If I am reading it correctly, this other thread seems to indicate the speedo cable should go under it.

So I am wondering if I had it wrong before, and need to get the speedo cable held by that bracket? But if so, how? I just can't see enough clearance to get both the brake line and the speed cable under that bracket.

Can anyone shed some light on the proper routing? If you've got an LX, maybe snap a couple of photos from under your mudguard? Thanks!
