I'm going to install new silent block rubber bushings into the swing arm of my new to me SS180 motor. I never did this on my GS, so I'm not sure.

I'm using stock parts from Mauro Pascoli. I did notice in the Piaggio parts manual that the left side and right side have different numbers (right is 59746 and left is 93907). To me the new parts I have look identical for right side and left side. Are they really left and right specific, or can I just pop them in regardless?

Another thing, should I use grease on the metal plates that encase the rubber or something like soap?

Here's the run of the mill type I'm using.http://www.vespa-oldtimerteile.de/product_info.php?cPath=32_94&products_id=4172&osCsid=a31e635246980db43d3b7da4f344fc3e

Any recommendations are appreciated.

All the replacement bushings are the same. Originals were hard on the left hand "red dot" side and soft on the right side. The replacements are as the red dot kind.

A little smear of anti-sieze or moly grease on the metal shell, and tap them in.

I'm surprised nobody chimed in sooner... maybe not any experienced GS/SS mechanics around?

Thanks vma1racer. That's very interesting information on the old originals. I never knew that. It makes sense, I guess, that the soft would be on the motor side, but I guess it would wear out faster.

I'll use the anti-seize and tap in. Thanks again.
