I'm heading off to London pretty soon for about 4 months or so (for work).

Was wondering if there are scooter pub nights when scooterists get together and what not. when/where?

Just want to hang out with some scooterists, see scoots, make friends, maybe find someone to take me 2up on the back of their scoot and tour around the city.

Myself and another poster here, rightpalava, often meet for some bottles of wine. If we're feeling classy, we might have a straw with the bottle.

Then we might dance badly to some ropey ska music after the wine has taken true effect.

If you don't mind hanging around with twentysomething alcoholics with a sense of style in west London then I'm sure we can meet. We are not so much a scooter group, more a self help group.

Of course, anyone is welcome, the only requirement is that you can drink, or are willing to learn.

I'm near West London - can I come too? Would be good to have a small (or large) get together - perhaps with a ride too! Could even all go up to the Ace Cafe where the whole scooter scene started back in the 1950's.

Central and West London are not far apart generally, unless you are really far west, then you are probably not really in London.

Hopefully they are in the sort of Notting Hill area, that is the best bit of West London!

Where in Central London are you going to be based?

Anyway, set some dates when you are going to be around and we shall arrange for a meeting between a few people and will perhaps get a few streets closed for you etc.

If you are here for Christmas then there is the famous Mysterons Christmas Present Ride to go on which takes presents to a hospital for kids (on scooters). NB: The kids are not on scooters, they are in hospital. We go on scooters, just in case that was not clear.

When I say west London, I'm talking about Earls Court, so its no trouble to move the meeting place to somewhere more convenient for everyone.

I'll arrive in London this Wednesday (hopefully).

Our office is in Covent Garden.

Yeah, I'm tempted to get like a cool Momo helmet or something. who knows.

I might be there over the christmas holidays. We'll see.
