I have a problem with my AC voltage on my lml star 125. I noticed my lights were not working or my fuel gauge. And I checked my battery with a multimeter and the battery is not charging I am only getting one or 2 volts coming out of thd regulator. So I checked my AC wire and at Idle there is only 8 volts. So I fitted a new stator and I still have the same problem. The scooter runs and drives fine. I also tried another flywheel off my mates lml and stator and I still have the same problem of only 8 volts at Idle. Revving the scooter the max voltage I can get is 18 volts.

Any ides ?

You'll need to start eliminating options till you find the culprit. Do you have a wiring diagram?

Try to disconnect the harness from the stator and just run the wires necessary for ignition. Then test the AC wires coming off the stator. Do you get the normal voltage? If you magically do and then plug the harness back in and it goes to shit something is wrong on the AC circuit. If you never get good voltage off just the stator then something's bad in the stator coils.

Report back what you find and we'll figure this out together.

Yes I have a manual and wiring diagram. I am basically have everything unplugged and only have the necessary wiring plugged in in for the ignition and engine to run.. And still low voltage and have tried a new stator and a used stator and still the same problem

What kind of multimeter are you using? Cheap one or a decent one? Cheaper meters have a hard time reading AC voltage.

While you got your meter out, what resistance values are you getting off your coils? Use the post below and see if there's a comparable US scoot that matches. Maybe the Stella or PX150

Can't remember the make of the multimeter I have had it for year's I also used a cheap one to make sure it was not a faulty multimeter. I also tested the AC wire with a bulb the the bulb will light up with a rev but not on Idle. The resistance values are in spec with the manual. It is a UK model. I did put a genuine vespa regulator on it as well because I was running out of ideas. But the problem has to be the AC output.

I have attached a photo of the wiring diagram
