Hi
The day started simply and well! I removed the nut from the long centre-stand bolt on the engine on th ebench, but trying to subsequently budge the bolt led to me shearing the bolt (17mm) and the bolt now seems to be welded into the engine casing!! I assume it isn't threaded in there, but despite a lot of hammering from either end, the bolt refuses to budge at all!! Am I missing something obvious or is it just that after 18 years in position, it is jammed solid?

Thanks
Hugh

Maybe some PBBlaster will get it moving. It looks like a bolt through a spacer with a nut. Spray it with PB Blaster then use a punch to drive it out. Possibly cut the through the spacer at 2 places and drop it out. A picture of what you have could help.

+1 on punch, I would also use a dead blow hammer or a mini sledge hammer. If you try and use a mallet it wont budge. They can get pretty stuck. Using a penetrating oil helps alot aswell.
