Hey all,

Having problems with the vertical Quick action throttle installed to a TMX carb...

Doesn't matter how I route the cable (even on the outside of the frame), seems to snag... just doesn't snap back...

Wondering if anyone has installed it with any success?

Any tips?

Or is it a lost cause??

Should the inner cable be lubed?

It's nylon lined...

Still stuck on what it should be

Maybe try using inner and outer cables that you can get from any bicycle shop? That's what I did with my Q/A throttle. Oh, and no sharp bends when routing the cable either.

I've used a large diameter throttle pulley with my PWK 34 and have had no issues for a couple of years.

Have you tried to isolate the source of the stiffness? Does the cable move smoothly in the sleeve? Is your throttle tube binding or stiff? Is the slide spring in the carb stiff enough?

It's a pretty simple system. disconnect the cable on both ends and see where it's stiff, then you'll know where you need to focus your efforts.

Thanks guys, will give your pointers a go and see if I make any progress... I'm not using a bigger diameter cable... will try that too
