Assume the sccot needs a new front shock why do YSS insist i need both?

Surely there is no technical reason? They publish a separate price for each.

When one wears out the other is right behind it. Also the are probably designed at the factory to work together so having the same brand would "help". Do you need to replace both, no. Would I replace both, probably not. But they will tell you both because they have no idea the condition of the other shock and dont want you to ride something unsafe then blame them if the balance is upset from a stiffer front shock.

Hence my question as this was my immediate thought.

They come priced separately.

This I understand also but as above they come priced separately.

Could be the dealer has to buy a pair but that i also doubt. as they can be bought on-line separately.

OK I'll press the point. Or go somewhere else.
