right, today i had my scooter in for a service and a rear tyre.

i went for the 140 michelin pilot sport because i wanted more top speed.

well, first impressions, the tyre is ALOT bigger profile than the previous 130 tyre, the accelleration is about the same, the top speed has increased by around 3mph but thats all.

the road holding has improved alot, ive dug the back end into a corner a few times and ive had it up to 85 (indicated) and it feels alot more stable and smoother than the 130 and my high speed vibration has almost dissapeared.

if you ride motorways/freeways alot then this is the upgrade for you.

if your getting a 140 fitted, dont expect miracles, but im happy with it.

Thank you Suit. I was mulling things over in my mind at work today and just might throw my 130 rear on the front and go for a 140 for the rear. I would then have a near new 120 to sell - no big deal. That is pretty much the result I was expecting. I'm pleased to read your words about the handling and high speed stability.

It's worth mentioning that Suit Scoot has the build of a racing snake. If your a bit more chunky monkey like me it may effect the accleration a bit more .

I'll have a go of your scoot next time I see you Suit Scoot and then we can see if the added payload has any detremental effects

Thanks for the review Suitscoot. Any photos (sad, I know, but I quite like pictures of tyres).

Any problems with clearance of mudguard etc?

Ive had no problems with the mudguard clearance at all.

Here's the pix you wanted Kam. I can't tell the difference between the two profiles at all.

Cheers for the photos mate. looks like there's plenty of room there. How many miles have you got on your GTS now?

What's the circumferencial difference? Wouldn't that affect your spedometer reading if it's based off engine speed instead of front wheel speed?
And wouldn't a 140 be heavier than the 130 (meaning that the 130 should be lighter and easier to spin: giving better accel?)

The speedo is driven off the front wheel.
