I've somewhat had difficulty commenting on the different tribute posts for Judy. I considered her a good friend throughout 10 years on MV. Never a week went by without a message from her. Thus my belated comments...
During the spring of 2014 I was having a conversation with Fred Haise (Apollo 13) and Charlie Duke ( Apollo 16) about the July celebration of the 45 year anniversary of the first moon landing. Somehow Snoopy came into the conversation. 'Lets send him on a journey around the world as an educational ambassador.' How? Hmmm. The good people at ModernVespa! That's how it all started. Fred donated his Snoopy signed by Fred & Charlie. So, how do we get him moving? That's where Judy steps up to help. All agreed the first trip should have some significant miles put on him. Fred mentioned Dillingham Field. KSC to Oahu, that'll work. Judy spoke to Fred and agreed. In Judy's words "
Dillingham airfield was the first place the Japanese planes came over Oahu at Kaena point during WWII. The rest as they say, is history."
Many of our members throughout the world had a chance to host the little guy. Great memories throughout his 18 month journey. Our MV Snoopy now resides at the American Space Museum. And, it all started with our Judy.
In regard to the sticker, yes! Please forward me one. You never know. It could possibly, somehow, travel outside of our world for an eternity!
