Anyone have any experience with this? I just ordered one from Cycle Gear. Should have it in about a week. They claim it is for long distances. I have a little over 3000 miles on a Pilot City and only got 2000 out of the Sava, so I am happier with the Michelin. BTW, I just found out the name of the Michelin Man. Bibendum, or Bib for short.

I have tried to find a set for my GT, they only carry the rear tire on all the shops I have located online. It is supposed to last 6-8k. I am replacing my Michelin Sport SC, it has 6,400 miles on it and the wear bars are just now coming through. I am very interested how the GS will work for you. Did you get the front as well? Please keep us posted.

I'm too cheap for that. I'll replace the front when it wears out. The rear will have to last a round trip to Reno tomorrow. Up and back for the air races.

I can't believe they have lost 3 pilots in 3 days, how sad. I have been in aviation all my life, and have lost friends due to pilot error and mechanical failures. It allways hurts when the Aviation community loses a fellow pilot and friend.

Sorry for your fellow pilots...

Back to the tyre matter, my Scarabeo 500 (39hp) is factory fitted with Michelin GS. Good brand, good tires, a good compromise between grip and durability.

They should behave very well with the lower HPs of your Vespa. As to me, next time I will try something sportier (and less durable...) like Pirelli Diablo or Michelin Sport Pilot.

I have them on my BV200. They are 16 inchers so they will last longer than the smaller size tires. I have almost 8000 miles on them and the front looks almost new. The rear is showing signs of wear but probably still has 2-4 thousand miles left on it. By comparison, my old LT150 had 15" on the rear and 16" on the front. They were Pirelli's. The rear was toast at 5000 miles and the front still had lots of rubber left. I'll stick with the Michelins...

True.
Michelin is a little hard but the Pirelli is a few softer...
MY BV 250 has two Michelin GS (16" ant. 16" rear)

Wouldn't it be more economical to buy the rear Pirelli as the front one has still plenty of thread, than to buy both tires from another manufacturer?

4500 miles on my bv 250 with these tires and I can hardly see any wear at all (I'm only 155lbs). I periodically ride aggressively, and have never had a tire slip. I thought I would try the Pirelli some day, however I will stick with the Michelins when I change the tires.

There seems to be something inherently wrong there. Continuing the races in the face of the loss of 3 pilots in one week sends the message that the pilots are disposable, and the race is paramount. Just my 2 cents worth.

Pilots are the new gladiators and we the people still crave for bread and circus. That's why I drive my Scooter, to stay away from the masses.

Back to the tire thing. My GT came with Michelins and I got 5900 out of the rear. I just replaced them both -- with Michelins.

I hope to get another good long term service out of the tires.

I was shocked to hear Gary had crashed. I've been to the races the past 4 years and really enjoyed watching him race. The company I used to work for built his wings and tail..
Far too many pilots crashing this year..but some years are just like that.. No one has crashed while i've attended, though Jeff Lo came awefully close in '05 when he got into the wake of another bipe.

It depends also on the conditions of the street mantle.
Here to me it's a mixed Paris-Dakar rally.
I would want them from enduro-trial.

Air Races-No deaths yesterday. 3 crashes completely unrelated.

Tires-Thanks for the input. Got almost 4k out of the Pilot City. I ride VERY hard. Wide open all the time (damn rev limiter). 185 pounds.

Scooter-Blew out the muffler gasket and took out the rear brake line too Crying or Very sad emoticon Made it home without rear brake. First clue was when I stopped for gas and had no rear brake! The I heard the exhaust. Nearly a 500 mile day.

Back to watching Portugal MOTOGP.

if you ride VERY hard, I suggest you try Pirelli Diablos next time.

As to the GP, The Doctor's back! (and Michelin also did a good job...)
