hi folks...

My scooters a UK 2003 ET4 125..

was coming home from the supermarket yesterday doin only 30mph (up a fairly steep hill) when the bike juddered, the tone from the engine changed and I lost all power to the rear wheel.

The engine didnt cut out and still starts fine but zero power...

I'm thinking drive belt or clutch... any advice or help would be really appreciated... If I'm barking up the wrong tree any suggestions of other posible causes are very welcome....?

I've managed to get all the nuts out of the cover (10 - hope that's them all) then I got stuck..

I've looked over the guide by m moor, so I guess I'll need to remove the clutch nut...? anyone confirm?

Do I also have to remove the circlip on the kickstart shaft?

can anyone point me in the right direction for a UK stockist for the special tools needed?

that should get me started !!

thanks in advance..

Sounds like a busted drive belt. You need to take the plastic cap off the rear of the case and remove the bolt holding the clutch. When you do that, the case will come apart, well, after you remove your oil dip stick too.

Don't do anything with the kickstarter. It'll come off with the case and go back on the same way.

i second spock's suggestion of a broken drive belt.

you'll need special tools to remove everything and put it back together properly.

best,

Anything after 2000 is the same as far as the belts are concerned. Stock belt should be around 22.04 pounds or so. Try these guys...

Glasgow is a little bit too far otherwise I would have done it for you, it's a 10 min job and I have the tools. Try http://www.beedspeed.com they have all you need and it usually comes next day.
