I must say that I'm very impressed with the storage capabilities of the 250. And hearing that this space is more limited on the 400 mp3 and the fuoco I must admit I don't know if I'd consider the upgrade. I've found the storage on my mp3, also using the top case, has been invaluable at times.

I just don't think I'd upgrade if losing on storage.

Are the color choices the same on the 400ie version? If so and if they're interchangeable, maybe, you can swap your top case from the 250 to the 400! When you don't need the case, you'd have a cleaner look and still have access to the mounting rack

I have a Mp3 250, and am looking to go up to either the 400 or the fuoco.
I test rode the fuoco, and was very impressed the exceleration is good, and quickly got to 70mph, our motorway speed limit, and took it to just under the ton, without a problem.

Storage was something I was concerned about, you can easily get a full face helmet, under the seat, and a few other bits and bobs, it also has a power socket under the seat(something I miss on the 250), there is a top box coming soon, my dealer says.

Although I like the looks of the Mp3, the 400 is restricted in the UK, so i figure as long as there is enough room to store my waterproofs, and somewhere to stick my helmet when I'm away from the bike, thats all i need.

I am thinking of changing because I feel the 250 doesn't have any extra when you get to the top end of it speed, and previously having a piaggio B500, it was nice to be able to do an overtake nice and smoothly. but if you not looking for any more speed then stick with your 250, as it sounds as though it does all you want it to do

Interesting if you look at the top speeds. That extra $2300 gets you zero storage and 4MPH?

Wow I didnt know that, if you come across any pictures of the Fuoco with the seat up, could you please post them? Thanks

I think the top speed on the 250 is rated at 76 and the top speed on the Fuoco at 90/91 from what ive seen others mention in the other thread.

Anyways to answer the OP, I will be upgrading to the Fuoco, I dont care if it had no storage at all, the body style is crazy. I didn't buy my mp3 250 for storage nor did it have any impact on whether I bought it to begin with, i simply liked the concept of the bike. Heck if people need storage they can always get a top case, from what other people have said they hold a huge amount of stuff.

I went in to my local Seattle dealer today to ask him to "put me on the list" for the 500. We discussed the pros/cons of the 400 vs the 500 for a bit, and he mentioned that he had seen the 500 at the Scottsdale meeting and that there was almost no storage. Yet I read here that there is more than enough room for a helmet.

To me the ability to safely and easily store a full face helmet is very important, so if anyone can either confirm one way or another and/or post pictures of underseat storage area that would be most appreciated.

Planning on buying the 400 or 500, leaning 500 but want/need some space.

thanks

If the Fuoco has a top case, I'll get it.

If not, MP3 400 for meeeeeeeee.

(if I decide on a new bike)

eh, to each his own...i prefer it to the mp3 250 style...the ass is way too big on the mp3 250...

the 500 is mad max to me...just ugly and hostile enough to be kick ass

now i prefer the vespa style...but i doubt they can make a 3 wheeler that keeps the vespa look (the GTS already pushes the envelope in vespa looks...the S and LX are clearly the best looking vespas out there...which is why i am thinking of the 500 for long trips and twisties and the S or Lx for town riding)

as for the top case....would not use it for daily riding...maybe for long trips...but even then i tend to just bunge the shit out of my stuff and ride like that...of course i don't worry about weather much out here...so i would likely skip the topcase and just bunge a tent and duffle and tarp to the back and go like that
