fav team? predictions for the upcoming NHl season?

I can't wait for it to start!! My team?? They were last seasons Eastern Conference Champions...Ottawa Senators!!
This year they will win the Stanley cup!!

Favorite team is the Chicago Blackhawks but since moving west I have adopted the San Jose Sharks as well.

Dallas Stars!!! All the way to the Stanley Cup

Dallas used to be my fav, but in recent years they made some IMHO poor trade choices... thus I had to let them go.
I am now 'teamless' although I typically cheer for Ottawa & Edmonton.

I must admit the Avs are my sentimental second choice.

I used to work for a company outside Boulder and the office mgr (an Avs fan) and I (Stars fan) would always have crazy bets during playoff time. If the Stars can't do it, my moneys on the Avs!

I have never forgiven Dallas for taking my Minnesota North Stars from me! Grrrr!



I don't have the constitution to root for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit is just not my team. I'm rooting for the Sens again this year!

Growing up in the Detroit Metro area I should be a Wing Nut, but I've always favored the Blues. Since we've gotten the Avalanche I've had season tickets, but I always root for a Canadian team to win the Cup!

Let's see...my avatar name is badpenguin...I wonder which team I am for.

I chose this because it has been tough being a Penguins fan for a few years. Things are looking bright for my team now though. We've got Malkin, Crosby, Gonchar and Recchi...it's good to be a Penguins fan again!

My uncle is from Pennsylvania and he took me to my first game when I was a kid. I've been a fan ever since.

It's good to see other hockey fans out there.

Love the Avs and the Oilers too.

Hopefully will be able to go out to Denver to see them take on the Pens, since they won't be coming to Anaheim or LA this year.

*IF*, and I mean if, the Pens can hang onto Malkin for the next 6 years, and shore up the goaltending position, they have put together the pieces to become the next Eastern Conference dynasty. If they loose everybody but Sid, they'll win as many Cups as L.A. did with Gretzky.

In terms of E.C. teams, I'll cheer for the Canadiens and 'Leafs any day - Flyers, too.

Caps fan here. I know! I know! Being from NoVA I grew up being told you alway route for the home team. No matter how bad they are. Gonchar was one of my favorite players on the "97" team. I was actually there to see the Stanley Cup awarded to "that other team"
I now live in Charlottesville and getting up to see the game becomes a weekend trip. So now when I get to go, I don't care who is playing, I just love the game!!!

Glad hockey season is starting. I don't care for football.

i graduated from HS with mike modano back in the day. its my only claim to fame.

since moving to texas my hockey blood has thinned out, but i still make time to catch a red wings game.

Been a Sharks fan for a while. Used to live about a mile away from the Shark Tank (HATED it on game night. Made my last 5 minutes of the drive 20 )

Was hoping to go to a game in November but it already sold out. Now hoping to go in January.

Not a major fan but haven't been to a game, lived in the bay area for over 8 years. Figured I should go now.

Hope they actually DO something once they get to the playoffs!

Grew up playing hockey - always been a Montréal Canadiens fan.

Since moving to the Columbus area, I also hope the Blue Jackets do well, except when playing the Habs (which doesn't happen too often).

i started to give up on hockey when hartford lost their team. i really started to hate pro hockey when they had the strike. minor league is so much more fun to watch-better fights!

Yeah, I got to see the new unis at the Teal & White game on Monday night - I hate the orange.

An NAHL team: Topeka Roadrunners. They were the Santa Fe Roadrunners last year and we billeted one of the players. He is now at UCONN and hopefully will get some playing time this year. The some of the other players we got to know and feed (what big appetites) moved to Kansas with the team and they are now at Showcase in MN!!!

Yep Rick Nash is our franchise player. He really filled out this year and for sure be one of the greats.

Opening night Oct. 5th. against the Ducks. Should be a good one.

Don't worry - Edmonton will get what's coming to them when they realize they've WAY overpaid for a couple guys, and are now stuck with them. I think Anaheim did exactly the right thing by letting Penner go instead of matching the Oilers offer sheet. Granted, Buffalo *had* to match for your young guy (the only guy left, it seemed!), but Edmonton will pay the price for their offseason greed - literally, and figuratively.

My favorite.... From the CHL....The Youngstown Steelhounds!!!! Don't laugh, they made the playoffs in their second season!!, but lost to the eventual CHL league champions.

Our management is a disgrace. How they handles Briere and Drury is beyond comprehension. Same crap, different day with re: to Teppo. Major bummer there.

If you can see it! First sale of tickets sold out in what? 40 minutes? There is supposed to be another sale of tickets later in the Fall. Would be fun to attend! Cold, to be sure, but fun!
