Modern Vespa

My wife and I are visiting San Diego at the end of the month. Anyone know of a place that we could rent a scooter for a few days to get around town?

Now there's an offer I can't refuse. That would be one heck of a long commute back to Ohio.

Rentals in California are very unusual. You have to have a motorcycle endorsement to ride a scooter, and very few people do. The insurance rates are ridiculous to be able to rent scooters to the public. Vespa of Oceanside renting them is news to me. It's about a 45 minute freeway drive from the heart of San Diego.

Good points. I do have an Ohio motorcycle endorsement plus insurance on my own scooter (and I work for a large insurance company who better have my back....). We are only going to be out there for a few days and I thought it may be fun, but it sounds like it could be a giant hassle. I'll stick to a rental car.
