Hey bros and broettes!

So over the weekend my dad bought me a vespa for completing probation. Super custom portofino green and brown leather seats. Really low miles 487. So after getting home it wouldn't start. Hooked up the jumper cables to my dad's 2500 Cummins turbo diesel truck. Had two batteries just went with the closer one (right?). Went color to color on the truck and black to red and red to black on the scooter. Made sure to spark before hooking up scooter and then revved the engine quite a bit. It still won't start? Is this junk or should I be looking at the alternator? Possibly bump start it? Would is wrong? Is this a common issue? I'm starting to think vespas suck.

Hope you haven't burned up the voltage regulator by trying to start with the truck.

So tell us about your scooter. Is it fuel injected or carbureted? If you don't know send pictures of the top of the motor (lift the seat and remove the black plastic tub). With a carb it could have flooded bouncing in the back of the truck. With an injector, you should hear a whining sound start and go out when you turn the key to on.

Do you have a brown and blue set of keys? There's a security system on the scoots that won't let it fire unless you have the right key.

Without the jumper cables does the motor turn over quickly like your car sounds when starting it? Or is the battery so drained it's struggling?

And yea like it was mentioned, is the killswitch set to run and are you squeezing the brake at the same time you push the starter button?

That's the battery charger that came with it for free. Not sure if you've seen this style before it's efficient.
