Holy Cow! She was lucky. That was really stupid to pull in-between the car and the truck. She was in a complete blind spot and the truck driver had no way to see she had moved into that spot.
It is important to remember that you are almost always the smallest vehicle on the road.
I am a retired boat captain; there are "Rules of the Road" in the marine world that establishes procedures for collision avoidance. There is another "unwritten rule" that all captains know: big boat eats little boat.
When you are on the road on your scoot, you are the "little boat."
