So tomorrow is my 38th wedding anniversary, hard to believe it has been so long. It is interesting how the older you get the faster time moves. The older ones get this, the younger ones will in the future. Being married to the same person for that many years is quite an accomplishment in my opinion, does not happen that often. So not to dwell on this, it is finally summer, although still a lot of rain, I am getting out riding a bit more. To everyone ride, but be safe, and we love our scoots.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Sarah and I celebrated our 34th in May.

To give you a target to aim for, my parents just had their 71st anniversary last month.

Congratulations!

It's been 45 years for me and Mrs. mpfrank.

When people ask how we stayed together that long, I answer, "Simple. We just got up together every morning and didn't get divorced that day."

Thankfully, it's been much more good than bad. My wife's mother had five miserable marriages and died young. My parents had one long miserable marriage (51 years) ending with my father's death, angry and disappointed, at age 84. So we have had to make it up as we went along. We've managed to become more honest and more loving with each other as time has gone on.

Quantity and quality both matter.

I keep reminding myself of my smarassery in my teens, reading the back page of the newspaper....no need for the obits, but the 25th and 50th wedding anniversary notices had pictures, and my youthful self was always like "so what?" or "they're all old and wrinkly."

At some point after a brief failed marriage and eventual remarriage, I recalled those days and suddenly felt some sentiment and appreciation for the challenges and rewards of marriage. There's a lot to celebrate, even if, at worst, the fact you've managed not to kill each other after 25 years, let alone 50.

Cograts on your Anniversary. My beloved, best friend and I will celebrate our 33rd this August.

Happy Anniversary! 47 years for the Blonde and me... time flies when you don't know what you're doing. And, yes, I was a child groom.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper: the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.
