Hi, my scooter turns over, but then the bendix jams open and stops it from starting, to free it up I have to turn the crank round with a spanner. I have cleaned it up but it seems loose, all over. Should it be this way? Do you think I should replace it? Also what's the best way of getting at the spark plug without having elves hands? Thanks folks Mick
The bendix should be pretty loose and free - is it really still jamming up after cleaning it? If so, replace - though I've never heard of this being necessary (ready to be contradicted on that!).
AFter a while some of them get to where the spring is weak and they won't
pull back, and start to hang up in the starter gear, the belt can hit them. Usually it's a line about a third of the way across the top of the belt, and it will, over time go all around.
