Modern Vespa

I know everyone is voting for Rex and so did I

BUT: I was contacted thru Detour scooters web site
that a guy was looking for scooters to use in his
Vespa green video. I responded by email and was replied
back. Phone calls ensued and a meeting was setup.
I was at the Starbucks, guy doesn't show up, doesn't
call. Rude he was, but I just let it go.
Now he emails back Detour Scooter and ask for votes.
I replied and went thru the story for the site.
His reaction was "boo hoo".
So I urge everyone to vote, NOT telling you how.
I will say the guy doesn't own a scooter or know anything
about them. I don't think we want him in the scooter
community. He'd just sell the GTS anyway.
SO: Go vote on "andrew" video.
If the moderators think this is not proper, I understand.
My feelings will not be hurt if pulled.
GO REX GO!!

Ahhh so it was him. Yeah, not cool on his part for blowing off your scooter debut. His video was #1 yesterday then it shot way down shortly after. He probably has the support from the scooter club where the scooter rider on his video is from. But we have the entire Modern Vespa ARMY!

REX needs your support - there is someone else at the top! We cannot allow this to happen - get out the vote!!

Unless I'm reading the rules and judging info wrong a panel of judges will pick the winner. The voting is only a precursive activity to winnow down the entries but they don't really describe what that cutoff is.

I wonder if the public voting is more of a marketing scheme? Can't imagine Vespa wouldn't want careful control of the outcome I suppose...

TO EVERYONE THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN! It's such a great feeling to know that we belong to such a great community, and that's the Modern Vespa community. THANK YOU!!

The judging is based on 4 criteria (25% each) and they are: 1) ability to address Vespanomics, 2) Originality, 3) Creativity, and 4) Viewers Choice. The first three will be determined by the judges who will rate each videos on a 1-10 scale. The last criteria is based on viewers rating. As of 8pm PST, I'm in 2nd place in the polls. HOWEVER, as you all may have noticed, most of them used copyrighted music (other people's work) in their video which violates the rules of the contest If the judges are strict about this, then we can already eliminate a few copyright-infringing videos altogether. (There is a fine print that says even though the videos are available for public rating, it doesn't mean it meets all the requirements to make it an eligible entry.) 8)
