Was riding this afternoon, Vespa started up fine. Parked it and went back to start it again and it didn't start. Battery is fully charged. I don't hear the engine trying to turn over. I don't hear anything. Engine light comes on but then turns off. Have any idea what the problem is?

rcorn - I had to replace the fuel pump on my 2006 GTS 250 and it was around $200. The fun part is dropping the tank to get it out. Of course, the fuel line plastic connectors snapped when trying to pull them out from the fuel pump. It was a 3 week lead time to get one of the fuel lines.
There are youtube videos on how to replace fuel pumps. There was recall on the fuel pumps so you should check to see if your scooter is in that recall. |

I doubt it's the fuel pump - even without the fuel pump working the engine should turn over.
First port of call - check the kill switch! Then check the battery connections are tight. Then check all fuses - not just by eyeballing but with a meter. If that all seems good: Check the brake lights come on when you pull in each brake lever. Listen for a 'click' from the starter relay under the seat. Report back and we can go from there. |

I'm going to have to go with kill switch as well. If you never use it sometimes you forget it's there and is just this red button by the right bar.
