Quick update on this ..

I've since fitted the Polini box exhaust and really liking it.

Not had any fuel starvation issues since fitting the Cosa carb top. Acceleration and top speed are superb, although plug was still looking lean with a plug chop after a run at higher speeds.

Two questions
Is timing a potential cause of lean looking plug at WOT?
I'm up to a 138 main jet, has anyone ever went that high with this kit?

Will update after fitting of Krytronic
Try a 120 air corrector, I went down to an ac 140 to keep me in a range of jets I owned. I was getting into the 130 range with a DR177 and a 20/20 carburetor using a 160 ac.

I've been at 150 main jet in the past, but only in conjunction with a 160 AC and the venturi. Dropping to 140 AC has kept my main much smaller. Still at 140/BE3/135 MJ with the venturi and I gave it a 10 mile fast motorway run last Sunday (65-72 mph) and it ran like a dream.

Pretty sure my idle is currently at 60/160, but I'd need to verify. I bought the BGM rich idle pack a couple of years ago. It includes 58/160 >> 68/160

My timing is at 20 degrees BTDC, set with a timing light. Every time I think I can hear pinging/pinking, I just shove my knee into the glovebox door and the noise stops. In other words, it's just the lock rattling/vibrating!!

Hahaha, yeah, been there 😂
I'm almost at the point of covering everything in glovebox with bubble wrap so I don't get distracted.

Actually meant my foot, not my knee

Ive just fitted a Pinasco 225 kit , heres my current set up,

24.24 Si carb with drilled hole 2mm.
standard air filter with drilled heart
60mm crank
160.BE3.130MJ
55/160 IDLE
Pinasco exhaust.

The idle is to rich, so ive ordered a 50/160,

If i remove the standard air filter the performance is much improved, was thinking about installing mallosi filter sheet under the seat hole because want keep the cool air induction coming from inside the frame.

I was lucky enough to get my scooter tested on a dyno, and it was felt it should be doing better. We opened up the carb and he noticed I had one of the new filters that has the blue gauze on the inside. Stripped out the gauze and there was a marked difference in performance. Not sure if your filter is the same, but worth a look.

I'll also add that I fitted the KyTronik Smart Booster electronic ignition to my previously stated setup, and that also makes a marked difference.

I believe the blue filters are used in India for dusty conditions hence the extra layer of filtration.
Unfortunately my air filter is the THROTTELED version which has the walls inside. It might be worth checking yours also(see link).

Did you end up changing any jet sizing after the dyno ?

Yes, there were changes made to the jetting based on Dyno results. I'd need to open up the carb to check what they were though.

Currently hibernating .. but I am very pleased with the performance from it on the longer runs. I've got a temp gauge on the plug and it never looked like overheating even when more throttle was needed on the motorways.

Can't remember if I've mentioned previously in the thread .. but had it on a dyno and it was coming in at 19.6hp.
