Modern Vespa

The hospital called me and had a few questions for me about what I might know about Max's medical history such as did I know if he had asthma or use anything like a walker or cane. I told them what I knew, which was not that much but I'll do what I can to help.

They said he has been in and out of consciousness and they expected to move him out of the MICU today or tomorrow.

I asked them to let me know when he is coherent enough to speak. I will have him send a message here when he is up to it.

The hospital has had trouble contacting some of his relatives. They have spoken to a sister in Brazil and yesterday a niece of his called me from France and gave me her number to give to the hospital staff. I think Max has at least one relative in Portugal that has not been informed yet. If anyone knows how to contact that person let me know and I will pass it along.

Generally things are looking good. I will let you know of any changes.

Matt, thanks for the update. Martha, thanks for following up with Max's family.

A year or two ago Max was posting about what sounded like potentially grave chronic medical problems . This went on for some time, then everything seemed to clear up and he was back to what passes for normal here. I don't remember the issue, and I won't guess, but there might be something in past posts.

Hang in Max. We've already lost too many folks here.

Thanks for the update. Max and I have spoken a great deal 'off-line' and I still wear an armoured jacket he sent me with pride.

I join everyone in wishing him a full and speedy recover. As Jim said, he is indeed a treasure.

We've not met, and I don't know that we'll have the occasion on account of me not really ever going to national scooter rallies, but if we do! - the first round...scratch that...ALL of your rounds are on me. You bring a tremendous amount of color and spark to this community, and I wish you all the best.

I relayed the phone number of a niece in France to the hospital and asked them to contact me if there were changes in his condition. I havent heard back yet. I will contact them and see what's up
