So ill start off by saying I am glad to have the Blue version...

I have never purchased parts or accessories of line before and I know there is a bit of a market for this and Im 100% sure somebody has all of the Cheap, Good & Great quality durability and look and fit questions already answered.

So my 1st question is DIY painting the chrome parts black or just purchasing them (the leg shield black trim is more than the black crash guard seems a bit crazy to me). I am not trying to go crazy just want all chrome black on the s50.

Love the blue on black look but Im in Miami too so the chrome on most vespa starts too look spotty no matter how clean the vesp looks. So Id prefer to keep the scratch and water spots and rust to a min.

Scooter west has all of the parts i want (wouldnt mind just blacking out all of the accessories: tint screen, brake levers, tinted lights, front and rear light bezels and the trim and front and rear racks) but I am not sure I wanna pay the prices haha looks like $1000 just to get the parts all black seems a bit much but im not broke either but like to be practical.

I am curious about tires and rims (wouldnt mind a Blue pair of rims to match the "Mediterranean blue"?) but tires im in miami and from time to time we get those lovely 15 min downpours that give a bit of slick to the road. so if there is a pair or a fellow Miamiian that has the wisdom, please bestow it!

so for the s50 is there a cheaper place or if i go cheaper will the parts just be shit?

Dont really need more speed but I would love some performance enhancement like acceleration, brakes and shocks. I think 40mph zipping around the beach is all I require

anyways any reply is welcome haha even the shit talkers!

but I love what a few of you have done with the s50 just not trying to pay for another vespa in parts cost.

I don't know much about changing the look of your S50, but I can help with performance. You can spend hundreds on every performance accessory out there, but until you increase the displacement you will be disappointed. Install these two items and you will be very pleased (cylinder kit and 5 gram sliders):

Also bump up the main jet in the carb to size 80.

its really tough to paint chrome parts and not have paint flake off, my suggestion would be to find a powder coater and take the parts to them and have them powder coated.

Congratulations you purchased the best Modern Vespa 50cc scooter made in the best color. I have the BBK and up gears in mine and it hits 50 no problem and beats most cars away from the light. I have also done some work on the CVT to get it tuned in better. Asfar as tires go I would look at Michelin City Grips. They are a good wet and dry tire. Good sources for parts is Scooterpartsco, Scooter West and AF1 racing. Being in Florida you can get parts from Scooterpartsco the next day most of the time. Keep us posted on what you do to your scoot and pictures are always great.

Well I def am just going to purchase the black pieces instead of trying any bootleg DIY project crap and make a mess and it look like rubbish!
thanks for the sites already found the couple of items i was looking for.

as for the kits. I saw also the variator kit is that worth the work (i assume ill have to take this to a mechanic since im not very versed in the engine game. .. yet)

and one more question are shocks beneficial and if so for what reasons. miami is very flat and the only hills are the bridges.

but I went ahead and go some city grips def worked out with the rain today!

question is there any way to at a usb or a small marine speaker to the body of the scooter (or if anybody has done it?)

With out the larger cylinder you probably won't see much gain on the variator kit. Maybe some Dr. Pulley sliders and a new belt would help you with take off and cruising. Not sure what shape your current ones are in but they are maintenance parts that do need to be replaced over time. These are not difficult things to do but you do need some tools to do them. All of the information is out here on the interwebs, Youtube is your friend.

Enjoy your scoot and let us know how it goes.
