So I recently acquired a 2009 Vespa GTS that I have brought back to life by reading this forum and watching youtube video's. Below is a list of what I have completed / looking to do in the future. I was wondering what else I should be looking out for in terms of maintenance and known to fail?

Currently @ 2,600 miles now

Completed

Tires > Replaced with new Michelin Power Pure set
Gear Oil > Drained & refilled
Engine Oil > Drained & refilled
Engine Oil Filter > Removed & Replaced
Front Brake Pads > Removed & replaced
Rear Rotor Disc > Removed & replaced
Rear Brake Caliper > Removed & Replaced
Rear Brakes > Replaced (came with rear caliper)
Coolant > Flushed
Brake Fluid > Flushed
Drive Belt > Replaced OEM
Rollers > Replaced OEM
Air Filter > Replaced OEM
Variator Air Filter > Replaced OEM
Exhaust Bushing > Replaced
Spark Plug > Removed & Replaced
Passenger pegs > Added billet extenders

Pending
R/H OEM Mirror Replacement
Hand Grip Replacement
Dashboard sensor temperature - seems way off, need to clean up and inspect

For the most part, looks like you've got it covered at about 150%.

One exception....at 10 years out, I'd replace the rubber hoses as they're likely starting to get brittle.

2009 was the start of several years of fuel pump failures, eventually ending up with a recall. Any authorised Vespa/Piaggio dealer can run your VIN in their system to tell if the fuel pump replacement has occurred by a shop.

The most typical symptom was a failure to start hot. If left for a few hours to cool down, it was possible to re-start.

I didn't even think about the rubber hoses starting to get old and crack - will have to do a once over and see if any are in the danger zone - Thanks!

Fuel pump - didn't know that was a issue, it looks like the forum has quite a good amount of discussion on the issue ~ Thank you!

Update: Called Piaggio customer service at 1-212-380-4433 and it turns out the scooter is part of the recall and I will have to take it to Vespa Arlington to get the service done free of charge ~ wow glad I posted the question
