Hi again,
So my 1998 pre-leader ET4 has decided to give up in the mornings. When I leave it overnight it has trouble starting up the next morning - regardless of outside temperature. When starting, it turns over but doesn't fire up.... for a while. To overcome this, I kick start it a few times (about 10) and then use the electric start to try again, this usually works but still requires a few goes with the electric start too!! Makes a sound like it's almost going to catch and then fades out and dies, repeat this until it finally decides to get going. Once started, absolutely fine until the next morning. Only has 15k miles on it too so hoping it's nothing huge...
Also, it was left over the winter and hasn't been right since.
Current things tried:
- Checked battery and spark plugs (all ok)
- Replaced air filter
- Replaced autochoke (that seemed to cause the engine to misfire, so put the original back in)
Kinda stumped and disheartened as it's perfect weather for riding but takes about 10 mins to get up and running in the morning.
I'm reluctant to send it in to the pros as on a student budget....
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!!
