Hello all! I recently purchased a 2006 LX 150 with about 800 miles on it. Within one day, I was having issues. If left out in the sun, or got hot (ambient, not engine) I would get an LED immobiliser fault that corresponds to the immobiliser not being programmed (2 second flash then off). It would run up to 2000 rpm, but not over. If the scooter is out of the sun/cool, it starts and runs great. I'm thinking it must be a wiring contact issue with the CDI. Any thoughts on this? Anyone heard of a similar issue?

Thank you in advance for any input you can provide!

Best,
Jennifer

It sounds like an issue with the CDI not getting the signal from the transponder in your key.

You may be able to inspect your CDI connections by removing the horn cover off the legshield; if not then the glovebox may have to come out. I'd take a peek in there to see if there are any glaring issues with the wiring/connections.

If after checking/fiddling there the issue persists, this thread indicates it might be an issue with the "antenna": Repair after theft attempt

After that, you may want to try a different CDI. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Good luck and keep us updated!

No, it's getting the RFID signal - it just thinks it's a virgin CDI.

I'd try re-programming it as in the manuals - assuming you have both keys.

Jimc - exactly! Unfortunately, I only have the service key, not the master. Which means I need to replace the entire CDI, lock, and keys. Yikes $$$$. The only other option I can come up with is to bypass the immobiliser system all together.

You can get a CDI that has no immobiliser. Probably worth doing anyway as who knows what else might be iffy in the circuitry and software.
