Modern Vespa

My wife and I visited the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera yesterday. (4th visit since 2009). Our last visit was in 2017, and yesterday was quite a surprise. The museum has been redone with several new exhibits, a much expanded gift shop and even a small cafe. They have a replica of Giuseppe Cau's 1951 Sei
Giorni Vespa as well. We met Signore Cau in 2015, and bought his book. The gift shop staff says he still drops by from time to time. He turned 90 last December.

... are you going on a Vespa ..?

Nope, arrived in a rented FIAT 500L. The staff in the gift store asked me if I owned a Vespa, I told them I had owned 2, but now owned a BV350. One of them responded -- "so you like to go fast?" I picked up a Giuseppe Cau T-shirt. They actually had helmets and other riding gear for sale in the shop. Like I said, a very serious makeover and one that has improved the museum immensely.
