Hi all, wondered if someone could please advise me on the GTS 300 glove box capacity, or more specifically if either of these two Fuel Friend jerry cans would fit inside it?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fuel-Friend-815710-FuelFriend%C2%AE-Certification/dp/B004MXIH7E/ref=lp_5296484031_1_1?srs=5296484031&ie=UTF8&qid=1565857711&sr=8-1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/FuelFriend%C2%AE-PLUS-CLEAR-Jerrycan-1-5-liters/dp/B008OGELFC/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=fuel+friend+plus+clear&qid=1565857757&s=gateway&sr=8-7

Keen to have a backup in the glove box just in case!

No chance. You can just about get a mobile phone and a wallet in there, and then it's full. You could invest in a Classics Rack that bolts onto your battery cover. You could then strap a full size petrol can to it.

No probs, better to know than not in that case thanks for the reply! Only issue with strapping to a tunnel rack is that I need that tunnel rack for bags on trips when I may need the backup fuel.

I may check if an even smaller 1.0ltr version, at 12,50 × 6,50 × 20,50 cm would fit, or another option is simply keeping fuel in the pet carrier! 8)

Thanks pal, I would well strap a can to my floor rack but also keen to keep it out of site at all times when parked up - great solution though!

I second the classic racks floor rack. Looks great and is incredibly handy at carrying more than just a cup of coffee. As a bonus it looks good.

Trust me, it's going on there! Just not too keen on the idea of using it for carrying my fuel, as will need the rack space for bags when touring - only really after a backup 1 or 2ltrs of fuel for emergencies, so I reckon I will be ok within the pet carrier for now...

This forum is certainly a fantastic source of info and experience though - grateful to be a part of this community!

Some folks use MSR Bottles. I've read you can attach those to the bottom of your rear rack. Never done it myself.

Just a little sideline. You can make the glove box space on the right a little more useful if you get out the Dremel and remove that silly tube that used to hold the toolbox. I have done this on one of my Vespas.
