Anyone seen or tried one of these?

Neat, but expensive and I wonder about the waterproofing.

I have a smaller GIVI version and it works well.

as far as water PROOF not in a gully washer but normal riding in rain it does fine, you can also add extra water spray treatment and it probably comes with a outside rain cover like the GIVI does.

That would be a great bag for long distance touring.

Yes a bit pricey but it looks good and imagine the water proofing would be adequate . What I don't like about putting something of that size on the floorboard is it makes getting off the scoot with it on a pita. I have a classic racks floor rack I strap things to when going long distance and if it's raining just use a waterproof tarp to cover the item(s). Of course you loose the ease of access something like this offers. I also have a waterproof bag on my front rack that is very handy and used all the time. It holds more than one would think.

For really large loads I have soft sided panniers. They work great with the only downside being you cannot put anything not soft in them without risking your paint job.

no different than swinging your leg over a standard motorcycle. Actually probably a lot easier as the vespa is not as tall.

Some of us made the switch to a scooter because of the difficulty of swinging a leg over a motorcycle. I had hip surgery 3 1/2 months ago... a milestone after that was being able to get a leg over a motorcycle again... for full disclosure: it was a low seat height on a Triumph Bobber. Doesn't matter - I like my scoot and plan to stay with that.

A friend showed me his trick to get around the leg swing issue. I can still swing my leg over my K75 but I feel it. The easy way is to stand on the foot peg and then swing the leg over. That extra height makes it easy. Not sure why I didn't figure that out before.

I've seen guys mounting their big adventure bikes that way. No more struggling to swing a leg by this old coot!

I just do not think of swinging a leg up over a scooter. Part of what makes a scooter a scooter is the step trough design, hell it's right in the definition of "motor scooter". The seat height on a Vespa is actually not low at all at I believe about 31" I think? That's actually pretty standard and not low AFAIK.

BTW this is not me bitching... I've just never thought of trying to step over. I'm just thinking here bikes it seems are better designed to step over than a Vespa. The designers certainly did not have it in mind whereas a motorcycle designer HAS to consider it. Ah well guess I'll give it a try soon. If it works I'm happy as it means I can load my floor rack up higher. Sometimes the most obvious solution to a problem doesn't come to you...

I will agree though that a lot of riders switch to a scooter just for the step though design and if it keeps them riding that's awesome.

If you want waterproof, Lomo do a wide range of bags. I have one of their holdall style bags, it is excellent quality for the money and completely waterproof even in torrential rain.

Ein bisschen teuer. I have a Classic rack on the floor, and I attach a drybag from the Ducati pannier. Not as much volume, but it keeps stuff dry and keeps the saddle free for easy fill ups.
