Nice collection! Bringing back some fond and not so fond memories. My first PTW ever was a '64 Allstate. I, at 15yoa, had an unintentional dismount while braking on loose small gravel over broken asphalt during my attempt at the Sears Allstate world land speed record.

Nice Collection
SJanuary,
It would be great to have any one of those machines. When I brought my second scooter home, my blushing bride retorted "What do you need two for?". Bob Copeland Minnesota

Significant Other and Scooters
Karlsbadd,
My blushing bride is sweet, but, she can have the "Ebenezer Scrooge Complex" I took up playing the five string bluegrass banjo recently. She predictably reacted the same way when I came home with a second banjo. On balance, we both make pretty decent money. She just can't get the Ebenenzer out of her otherwise great constitution. Bob,
I guess I'm lucky in that I don't make enough money to collect (and store and maintain) multiple scooters. My "guilty pleasure" purchases are more in the shoe arena. I'm the Scrooge/Curmudgeon in my relationship, and thankfully, my (soon to be wife) lets me do what I want to do and vice versa. But boy am I ever glad I have the BV; it's an all-in-one. She does know, however, that when I retire/move to a warmer climate, I'm champing at the bit for a more vintage Vespa/Lambretta style scoot. I do love a vintage/older scrambler though... But I digress. Sounds like you and yours have worked things out nicely. I'm glad for you. -K |
