there is/was a joke about Jerry Adams getting a lift in Ian Paisley's new car. Among the other features was a catholic converter.

Retarding ignition is more sophisticated way to reduce power than cutting it. And it would be much harsher too. Limiter on Vespa is not harsh at all but quite gentle.

So it either retards ignition or cut fuel injection. Latter would give quite harsh feeling too.

So what's better, losing your spark or being retarded?

If you are retarded you aren't aware that you've lost your spark, so there is that to it.

Do they make one of these rings for the BV350? I want one so that I can have an accurate speedo.

You'd have to think is does not interfere with that otherwise they would need a big ass disclaimer on the box. I knew it would only be a matter of time before tweaks and upgrades came out for the HPE.
The all encompassing disclaimers I have seen are "for race use only" then it's fair game!

Kubler in Germany have released a new ABS ring for the 300 HPE . This ring corrects the inaccuracy in the speedo , it also increases the top speed of the HPE by 6mph .

I think that is just to get around emissions standards or something like that. IF they killed the ABS I think there would be some mention...

OK, so after reading through this post, I have come to the following conclusion regarding the use of the new Kubler tone ring on my 2018 GTS. I HATE the speedo error!!! My Honda is 100% spot on and in sync with my GPS. So are BOTH of my cars. Why can't VESPA do this?!?!?

FACTS:
1. The GTS speedo gets it's input from the rear wheel tone ring.
2. The ring used on my 2018 (pre HPE) is the same as that currently used on HPE models.
3. The ECU will recal and adjust for the new rear tone ring difference against the front wheel tone ring.

Please confirm my assumptions or tell me where I'm wrong. Much appreciated!
