Bike went in for its first service and got them to put the exhaust on while they were at it. I was getting an intermittent clicking noise under load at slow speeds so I'm assuming something needed to torque something down on the trans so I'm not 100% sure how much was that vs the pipe but the bike feels much more confident under acceleration. I know that is an odd description but I'm guessing its mostly do to the extra torque.

As far as noise level, I wouldn't think twice about having a conversation with my wife if she was on the back. I also like how it sits a bit lower so it is easier to put on my cover without burning more holes in it. A buddy just got a 20 Notte so I will try and do a video in mexico of the differences in acceleration with and without the baffle.

I also scored some ebay special bar end mirrors and converted the factory mirror mounts to ram mounts. On the phone holder I found a cheap amazon waterproof QI charger and I'm still doing some testing. I'm currently using the factory USB port but will probably have to put in a 12v socket with faster charger to give it enough juice to keep the phone charging at full brightness. I didn't have my camera with me to get a shot with the phone in place but my inner nerdiness was peaked with the gauge info displayed as I ride. You get rpm, graphical mpg and a few other options via the app. Nerd emoticon The drink holder is only when needed. Waiting for my camera mount to arrive to figure out a dash cam of sorts...

Hopefully we will get some good weather this weekend so I can give it a bath and get some miles in!

Oh wow! That is the coolest instrument display EVER!!!! I wish my 18 Sport came with that option. I went with Remus as I had the Akro in my previous scoot. I found that it backfired a lot, but not the Remus.

Very nice! I have the same Akra can on my GTS and love the sound of it, it's not loud at all but had a pleasant sound. I did not remove the db killer.

I wanted to trade up to the HPE model with the TFT screen like yours (Super Tech) but this model is not available in Canada. Frustrating. The only 2020 GTS300 sold in Canada is the Notte, and the Sei Giorni. That's it.

I sold my motorcycle yesterday and now I only have my GTS..

Any chance you can give us a show and tell about the TFT screen.. with pics of other functions?

Been eyeing a Akro, is the backfiring typical on otherwise stock GTS?

Looks great. Except, wipe off the greasy fingerprints before the heat from regular use bakes 'em into the finish!

I just got one myself, and I like the lower frequency growl a little better than my PM Tuning PM-80 exhaust, so I think I'll keep the Akra on it for now, as well.

Fun fact,
New Akra exhausts don't allow to remove the rear noise baffle!!?? I'm so pissed. Not that I'd run it open all the time but that was one of the selling points. Fun when I wanted on big group rides etc and OEM+ sound all other times... Turns out they removed the set screw on the bottom and they spot welded it in. I'm reaching out to the company to see if the shop ordered the wrong part or if its a new rule from all the supercars with straight pipes fing it up for everyone else...

I'd be happy to do a tutorial on what I like and what I don't like... I'm having some permissions issues with the audio so I bypass the scooter for the audio but there are some cool bits... I still have some troubleshooting to do to first but I'll definitely put something together. In the mean time here are some cool things the app offers via bt...

Is this exhaust designed specifically for HPE? Did the guy who put it on do any other modifications to the engine?

Thanks for all those pics.

My Akrapovic will fit the HPE. and has a removable db killer, but the set screw isn't at the bottom but on the side facing the wheel, so to get to it, I have to remove the canister. I tried it once and it was way too loud.

So the good news for me is when I get the SuperTech when it comes to Canada in 2020, I can move it over.

Vespa Exhaust
AKentPhoto,

I usually am a original stock parts guy. I will admit that several in my riding
group have enhanced exhaust systems and they really sound good. On balance, I am probably to cheap to replace a new perfectly good exhaust.

I wanted to comment of your excellent photos. You either are, or bordering on being a professional photographer.

Thanks for the great shots.

I'm thinking that it's more of a weight saving than any actual performance.

Sure it looks nice but it's a lot of money for not very much.

You can thank EU legislation prohibiting the modification of any part of a motor vehicle's engine functions from the cover of the air cleaner to the end of the exhaust.
Any alteration must be OEM approved and installed by an OEM approved technician in order to prevent owners from fiddling with the vehicle to deviate from the original noise and emission specs.

It is all part of the EU action against 'fake' (not my words) global warming.

If you look at the ScooterLab website shop, there are 2 versions, the one for £516 has a non removable db killer and the one for £505 has a removable baffle, Euro 4 vs Euro 3 I suppose.

https://scooterlab.uk/product-category/akrapovic-exhausts/

Mine has a removable db killer and it's way too loud (for me) with it removed but has a nice growl with db killer in.

Has anyone tried to remove the DB-killer on the 2020 Akrapovic? It does not have a covered screw (just like the Euro 4 series before). I hope it goes the same way by drilling a hole into the carbon cap to unscrew the killer.

Are you saying it shouldn't use the original PMAK-01? That is what I have on my HPE. Didn't ride it with the stock pipe, so don't know if I gained/lost anything with it. Now you have me worried!

My understanding is that with the pre 2018 Akra you could easily remove the DB killer, with the next version you still could remove the DB killer but you had to drill a hole in the carbon fibre to see the little bolt. With the latest Akra (2020), you simply cannot remove the DB killer any longer, hence they add an extra outlet to still give the better sound..

Going by the market and forum's discussions, people still prefer the older one where you could still remove the DB killer and pick your sound...

I want to change the exhaust ASAP when I get my Sei G
I was looking at the Akra for my G63 but didn't do it as I keep debating selling it but have no clue what I would get with such a strong resale value.
I like a throaty loud exhaust.
I really can't figure out which I want for the Sei G but since it looks like a racer I think it should sound a bit louder and deeper. I do not want it to sound like a Harley though or a cafe bike whiney LOL
