has anyone done the conversion to change there P range or similar from AC / DC ?
I'm doing it on one in the garage shortly and would appreciate any pointers or gotchas.

I will be floating the ground so to speak on the stator which will leave me with 2 AC outs which will feed into the new regulator/rectifier. The one that i have in my sticky mits is similar to the ones on the honda Cubs.

my questions are as follows

what horn do i replace with if it all?
what modifications if any are needed to the indicator system.?

It's a good thing. I've had mine converted for a few years now. The most trouble I've had has been with the horn, but that's in an early frame, should be easier in the P.
The only advice I can offer is to make sure your regulator is a full wave one. There's a number around and they look the same so just check it's descibed as full wave. No need to go to the Trailtech, however they do have a couple of nice features. But the ones I've tried - sub-$10 - have been bulletproof. The two AC out wires from the stator go to the yellow and pink.

Also, I have a battery in my system that is switched. The loads don't care whether the battery is connected or not.

I have also tried a floated stator with the Vape regulator, which worked fine for the couple of weeks I was using it.

With the BGM Pro one it looks as if you may not need to float the ground, and simply run the loads you want from the DC side.

2005 PX150 DC conversion
I don't know if you have a P or a PX, battery system or non-battery AC, US or Euro spec bike, or what year yours is, but those other scooters have a different wire harness from the 2005 US market PX150. Maybe some of the wires might be similar though.

If you're just after getting 12DC power to your headlight, a AC to DC converter box is the absolute fastest and easiest. I got a thread here that covers it.
PK125 XL disc brake and LED headlight conversion
FYI, the ac to dc conversion is further down the page.

Thanks for all the help and advise. i believe i know have sufficient to do the conversion. the scooter is a T5 Classic European spec wireing loom and engine in a cutdown frame circa 1984. We wont be using the indicators but will be doing the full DC conversion that includes floating the ground. I will post back here again if i encounter any issues that havent been covered off her and in the links on the thread ( I feel that most are covered so it wont be another post)

thank all again
